On 14 July 2021, the new REWE store opened in Bad Frankenhausen - a modern full-range store with around 2,000 square meters of retail space that consistently focuses on sustainability. The project was realized by VENTIS Commercial AG. The previous store in a central location was too small, no longer up to date and did not allow for future-oriented further development in line with modern green building standards.

At the new location on the outskirts of the town, on the other hand, a REWE Green Building has been realized, which is easily accessible both by car and on foot: There is a residential area in the immediate vicinity, while the adjacent Esperstedter Straße - a state road - merges into the B85 federal highway just a few meters away. Around 100 customer parking spaces are available directly on the premises.
