A new REWE supermarket opened its doors in 2019. The striking architecture with a generous window front on the side of the building and several skylight domes in the roof ensures a bright and friendly atmosphere thanks to the daylight. The so-called "crow's feet" - load-bearing wooden trusses that extend across the roof to the front - are particularly striking. The choice of wood as a building material, supplemented by other environmentally friendly and recyclable building materials, underlines the sustainable approach of the building. Sustainability was also a consistent focus in terms of energy efficiency: a modern air-to-water heat pump uses the waste heat from the cooling systems to convert it into heating energy.
